What is Soundboard?
Soundboard, as the name suggests is a platform where today's business ideas applied to the entertainment and music industries get amplified. It’s a platform to present Asian entertainment case studies with an objective and unbiased tone of voice, connect the dots, identifying pockets of opportunities within the Asian market via content marketing best practices and other ideas from business thought leaders in the ever-changing digital environment.
What’s the motivation behind?
Soundboard began as a project in the hope of helping industry professionals understand the work we do better in Asia, through documentation of these business case studies, good and bad. Soundboard is dedicated to propagating ideas and opinions, as a result, serve as a measure of effectiveness for Asian entertainment. Languages, as we know, break down cultural barriers and entertainment has an even stronger influencing power with its mass appeal.
What to expect?
Soundboard will discuss trends in the digital entertainment scenes in Asia and go deeper on how they’ll impact other Asian markets and rest of the world. Best practices in business and marketing, together with book reviews, citing references to the Asian entertainment business will be highlighted. Soundboard will also touch upon data and how crunching the numbers will give a better understand of audience/fans. Expect occasional interviews with Asian industry experts as they share thoughts on market movements and evolvement.

Who is behind Soundboard?
Soundboard started in 2016 by Rebecca Souw. With an inquisitive mind in business strategies and experience in the video content industry, Rebecca recognizes the dynamic growth opportunities in Asia and is determined to make a contribution. Hugely influenced by music, thanks to the family while growing up, Rebecca was exposed to various types of music from Motown, Disco, the Glorious 80s & 90s, Mando pop, Kpop, EDM, even Thai pop. Rebecca has been in several global roles related to Content Business Development, Marketing and Advertising in Singapore, Seoul, San Francisco and New York City. Companies worked for include TBWA, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Viki (now owned by Rakuten) and Dailymotion. Content Partners worked with include Universal Music in US and APAC, Bloomberg, CNN, Hearst Digital Media in US, Warner Music in APAC, CJ E&M, JYP Entertainment, MBC in Korea, and more.
